Weird selection for a possible web host

Though there are so many possible web host for my web page out there in the internet today, I could say I still had a hard time selecting which one was really relevant and what I really needed for my site. I am looking for a vps host and of course I would rather prefer it that the host was a top vps provider or host so that will guarantee the service and quality which I need to maintain my vps server.

After searching in the net, I found actually 2 possible sites, one is addora and one is midphase, but after careful consideration and researching and reading articles on them, I selected one which is midphase. You know why? It was also quite a simple reason after reading a midphase review and found out that it was located in Chicago! You see I grew up there and I thought hey, I could also support this business there since it is from Chicago area also. But not only that, It was a real good host according to the many reviews and being from Chicago was just a bonus I guess.
